Dr. Ghislain Raze

I obtained my Master’s degrees in aerospace engineering with the TIME double degree exchange program from the University of Liège (Belgium) and ISAE Supaero (France). I pursued a PhD at the University of Liège under the supervision of Prof. Kerschen. I am now a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liège, currently visiting Prof. Haller’s group at ETH Zürich (Switzerland).

Current Research

Nonlinear modal analysis
We exploit theoretical, numerical and experimental methods to analyze different families of resonances of nonlinear structures. We use phase resonance to characterize their nonlinear modes.

Piezoelectric damping of smart structures
We propose new tuning rules for piezoelectric vibration absorbers aiming for multimodal vibration mitigation of complex mechanical structures, featuring high modal density or nonlinear behaviors. We leverage digital vibration absorbers, a versatile solution allowing for the implementation of virtually any control law.
